The best time of year to visit Courchevel
A question we often get from our clients is, “when is the best time to visit Courchevel?”

The winter season in Courchevel runs from early December until late April. Each month of the winter season brings its own unique atmosphere and has its own unique advantages. When to visit the resort will totally depend on your personal preferences and what is most important to your group.
December

The first two weeks of December are usually the quietest of the season and therefore you can get an amazing deal. The only downside of these two weeks is that you are risking snow conditions and not all of the lifts are open. However, the snow is often fantastic and as there is no one around there are no queues at any of the lifts so you have the world’s best ski resort to yourself.

Christmas and New Year are when the season truly begins. Expect a magical atmosphere with fireworks, performances and displays. Click here for more reasons to ski in December

January

January is a great time to come skiing, it is very quiet so you will get a good deal on your accommodation and lift pass. The snow conditions can also be great due and we often have some of the heaviest snowfall in January so it is a great time for powder hound to visit Courchevel. February

Is when all the families head to the resort, it is very busy but a fun atmosphere. As the lift system in the Three-Valleys is so extensive you will queue a lot less than in other resorts. During the school holidays, the tourist office will put on plenty of family-friendly events to keep your children entertained.

The snow is also great in February and is probably the most snow-sure month and that is why it is so popular.

March

March is a month that offers you the very best of the mountains. The sun comes out but there are often huge dumps of snow. The middle two weeks in March can be very quiet, so if you like to ski hard then have a beer in the Sun, March may be the month for you.

As it is a little quieter there is always a good deal to be found in March. Click here for more reasons to ski in March:

April

If you’re looking to go skiing during the school holidays, but for a little cheaper than February, April is the perfect time to book your skiing holiday. Enjoy the sunshine, and some more space on the slopes, all whilst saving a bit of cash.

The majority of skiing in the Three-Valleys is above 1800 metres which means you can get great snow right until the resort closes. Click here for more reasons to ski in April:
