Le Praz, or Courchevel 1300, is a small traditional French village located next to a small lake on a surprisingly level plateau at 1,300 metres in the Courchevel Valley. Le Praz has retained most of its old buildings, character and charm andwith narrow lane ways and beautiful houses, apartments and chalets it is one of the prettiest settlements in the Courchevel Valley.
Le Praz is linked to the main ski areas by 2 télécabines/gondola ski lifts, with one going directly to Courchevel 1850, and is the lowest of the Courchevel resort villages with its own ski lifts.
Le Praz is home to a number of fine restaurants and its elegant charm means it is ideally suited for those who would like to stay in a traditional French village, away from the more frenetic pace of Courchevel 1650 or 1850, whilst still enjoying quick access to some of the best skiing in the world.

Catered & Self Catered Chalets, Self Catered Apartments & a Hotel
Despite the fact that Le Praz is a rather small village there is a good range of holiday accommodation here There is probably more catered chalet accommodation than any other type but there is also a good range of privately owned self-catered apartments. A few of the newly renovated apartment are very luxurious and would not be/look? out of place in very best locations of Courchevel 1850.
There are only a few self-catered chalets, with the best located in the Le Tremplin area of Le Praz, which is just opposite the lift station and has ski lockers, a lift ticket office, toilets as well as a café/restaurant and the series of International Ski Jumps, built for the 1992 Winter Olympics but still used regularly.

Le Praz Courchevel 1300 Ski Lift Station & Ski Runs
Le Praz is well serviced by the Praz and Forêt gondolas/télécabines which link it directly to either Courchevel 1850 or via Cretes chair lift to Chenus or via Dou Des Lanches chair to Col de la Lose and then Meribel.
There are 3 red ski runs/pistes that return directly into Le Praz: Murettes, Amoureux and Brigues. Of course, if you prefer you can have a relaxed return to Le Praz via the télécabines mentioned above.
Le Praz also has a designated ZEN Zone designed specifically for beginner skiers to practice their technique and gain confidence.
Winter from the Air - Le Praz Courchevel 1300 The 3 Valleys
Le Praz has some very good restaurants with many of the big spenders of Courchevel 1850 venturing down the valley to partake of its fine cuisine and wines.
Restaurants such as Le Ya Ca, La Table de Mon Grand Père in Les Peupliers Hotel & Le Bistro du Praz are all in this category. There are also a range of restaurants offering lighter meals, crepes and snacks, Savoyard specialties and even Italian cuisine. These include Chez Kinou, L’Escourche-Vel Pub, Le Darbello & Le Norby’s.
Le Praz has a reasonable range of shops including a ski hire shop and is also serviced by a number of mobile ski rental services, a bakery, butcher, newsagent, post office, mini supermarket and a deli which sells local specialty produce.
