Courchevel 1650 offers a great mix of the local residents, ski workers and holidaymakers which give it a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. It is ideally suited for families and groups of all ages as it is less expensive than Courchevel 1850, has lots of Ski in Ski Out holiday accommodation and offers good access to the main ski areas of the Courchevel Valley as well as having a reasonable range of shops, bars and restaurants.

If you need more, Courchevel 1850 is less than a 10 minute free bus ride away. The free bus service has on average a bus every 10 minutes running between Courchevel 1650 and 1850 every day during the day. The first bus is around 7:30 AM and the last about 1:30 AM. After 8 PM the buses run roughly every 30 minutes.

    Courchevel 1650 has lots of great ski in ski out self catering apartments, as well as some very nice Courchevel chalet rentals, especially in the Belvedere area just above Courchevel 1650.

    There are a number of larger apartment complexes many of which are looking much better in recent years, such as the Grand Sud complex, due to external timber renovations and additions.

    The great thing about many of the apartment rentals in Courchevel 1650 is the size and space of the self-catered apartments. These older style blocks are solidly built with loads of heating and hot water.

    Most have heated rooms containing ski & boot Lockers on the ground floor and, as mentioned, many are ski in ski out. Nearly all have good size balconies and many  have balconies on both sides offering tremendous views up and down the valley. The L'Ariondaz Apartment complex in Courchevel 1650 being a great example of this.

    Courchevel 1650 Ski Lifts & Ski Runs

    The north facing slopes in 1650 offer some of the quietest and safest slopes in the Courchevel Valley & 3 Valleys ski area. Often overlooked, Courchevel 1650 offers some great skiing with wide, open pistes and often has excellent snow conditions. It is also a very good resort for beginners or those waiting a more relaxed skiing experience with a number of green and blue runs.

    Courchevel 1650 is serviced by the Marquis, Ariondaz, 3 Vallées, Belvedere and St Agathe lifts.

    You can ski back in to 1650 via Belvedere (green), Indiens (blue), Piste Bleue (blue) or Marquis (blue).

    Courchevel 1650 has a reasonable après-ski scene with a range of bars & restaurants to suit all ages, tastes & budgetsPrices here are generally lower than Courchevel 1850.

    Restaurants: Courchevel 1650 has a wide range of restaurants open for lunch and dinner, to suit all tastes and budgets including crepes and snack bars from Creperie Titine et Lilou, pizza and local dishes at Le Petit Savoyard as well as traditional savoyarde cuisine at L’Eterlou, L’Alambic and La Table de Marie.

    Many of the bars in Courchevel 1650 offer live music, themed nights and are open until the early hours should you wish to drink & dance the night away. For live music and dancing until the early hours try By Night Tavern. The Bubble Bar offers live music and themed nights and prices are reasonable. Those who prefer a more French atmosphere might want to try Le Plouc or Bar Le Schuss.

    Courchevel 1650 offers a range of ski shops and ski equipment providers where you can rent and buy everything you need for your ski holiday. It also offers day-to-day shopping including supermarkets, a bakery, butchers (where you can also buy speciality local produce including hams, cheese & wine), tabac/presse (news agency) and a pharmacy as well as a small range of gift shops, perfumeries and boutiques.


    Free Bus Service Courchevel Valley & Timetable


    There is a regular bus service operating throughout the Courchevel Valley with buses running between Courchevel 1650 and 1850 every 10-15 minutes during the day and early evening and every half an hour from 8 PM until 1:30 AM.
